Thank you for your message. You're right we haven't included any dependency with "x", we are planning it for a future work.

Regarding to FFT, definitely we considered it, however we wanted to explore a machine learning solution. As you mentioned, a FFT gives frequencies due to the noise, which is not ideal for our approach.
